Like many things in life, preparation is an important part of making a project successful. I have an interesting physical and spiritual to-do list:
- Ask friends, family and others to support us with their finances, encouragement, and most importantly with prayer.
- Figure out how to pack 7 days worth of clothing and essentials in a carry-on bag
- Improve my Spanish
- Help pack 4,000 pairs of eyeglasses and other supplies for the trip.
- Buy some scrubs, Tums tablets, and mosquito repellent
- Get a tetanus shot and malaria medication
- Pray for God’s direction. How would He have me serve? What would He have me learn?
I’m sure there’s more. I’m hoping this blog will provide a glimpse into the mission from a servant’s point of view. It’s a privilege and an exciting opportunity to put my faith into action.
