Yesterday felt like a test. Would we see God at work through these unplanned circumstances? This morning eyeglasses were waiting for us in the hotel lobby. They had not only cleared but had been delivered to us. We learned later that Sonia, our in-country doctor, had spent several hours making phone calls to get the glasses released, then personally delivered the glasses during the night.
It was a wonderful first clinic day.
Highlights
- 436 people were helped
- 447 pairs of glasses were given to residents
- 70 people requested local Pastor follow up and/or made a profession of faith!
- The Mayor of Santa Rosa de Copán came to check out our clinic and brought a television crew. Apparently, we made the afternoon news broadcast!
The wonderful response from the community made our early difficulties worthwhile. Many, many people experienced better vision and relief from eye problems today. We are expecting even greater things tomorrow. To God be the glory.
