Day of Rest

Sunday, June 23, 2024

Today was a rest day. After three solid days of clinics, everyone was ready for some down time. Most people took the opportunity to catch up on their sleep. But not all. Laura reported:
“A new experience… I was hearing a heavy thumping sound repeating throughout the night. It sounded like something striking the ground, and occasionally striking metal. In the morning, it happened again right in front me and I then I understood — it was mangoes falling from the overburdened mango trees. The mango that dropped in front of me actually landed on the hood of a car and set off the car alarm.”

After a leisurely breakfast Kevin led a worship service with song and Scripture reading. The rest of the day was open for everyone to rest and play. A group of 7 enjoyed a boat ride in Tela Bay, while others explored the surrounding forest and wildlife and a few soaked up the sun. Here are some fun photos of the people, the beautiful scenery, and even the friendly critters who have been part of today’s experience.
